Chosen To Be A Teacher

  1. During the re-union met up with my ex-schoolmates recently, one of them known as Chow Beng Aun shockingly said,"I couldn't believe you're a teacher until I see with my own eyes you are teaching in the class". He was not the only one can't believed that I'm in the teaching profession.
  2. I used to be a bad boy in a small town. When I was in the secondary school, I always got caught smoking, skipped school, fighting, punctured the teacher's vehicle tire and other nasty. So, who could believe that this crook would become a teacher.
  3. When I applied to be a temporary teacher(a year before enter the teacher's college), I just wore jeans pants and rockers Uriah Heep's t-shirt with long hair in style, but I'd been offered to start teach in the next day at the famous government religious secondary school in Penang, and I taught history for the form four classes.
  4. After I completed my teaching course, I began to teach in the Klang Valley for nearly eight years until I married and return to teach in Penang. During my early years became a teacher, I kept on dealing with my junkies friends either in Penang or KL and unfortunately I got arrested during holidays and sent to rehab. I thought that was the end of my career BUT the Almighty God provides the fortune for me as a teacher. No one dares to help me to get back this job ONLY the God determines me to be a teacher.
  5. Even the narcotics cops in my hometown could not believe that I'm still teaching today, and I still remembered the words by the Inspector during my detention in the lock-up, "I'll make sure that you'll be fired as you're not qualified to be a teacher!".
  6. Today, I'm still a teacher and I have a daughter and a wife, and we live in our own house, and besides a popular English teacher, (although I'm a Malay optionals), I'm also a silat instructor. Even though some people are still dealing with me in prejudiced, but I'm still one of the best teacher in town and there are number of tuition centers offering me for the side income.
  7. I've been teaching for more than 13 years as a qualified teacher and 2 years as a temporary teacher, and I just completed my first degree in USM and I'm waiting for my convocation. That's why I consider myself as a chosen person to be a teacher and I will teach forever.

    salam cikgu Joe,

    hehehehe, fames secondary religious in penang? sekolah apa ye? hehehehehe.

    pekenalan dgn cikgu joe adalah unik sekali.

    bermula masa beliau mengajar tingkatan 4B sebagai guru sandaran, kami (juniors mashoorian) pada ketika itu amat 'teruja' dgn gelagat cikgu baru yg trasher habih!!!, semua mashoorians crew, tak kira level 6 upper hingga ke class 1C bercerita dgn guru sementara class 4B yg terkenal dgn kenakalan dan kebrutalannnya (amril's crew: amril, bot,farid, linggem,apit, Bo, yaser, budin dll).

    sebermula dgn 'pembulian nakal' dari 2nd juniors crew (Pin,Adik Bo, Gee, Sepek and others:level 2B and 2C class) hingga lah sesi peringatan keras drpd Godfather-godfather class 4B, maka bermula titik perkenalan kami semua.

    sementelah pula, beliau juga lah antara tenaga yg merecruit crew-crew yg bermasalah ataupun berpotensi menimbulkan masalah bagi pihak sekolah. dgn folllowers yg brutal (amril's crew), beliau berjaya menarik minat kami (pin'crews & Mat Ki's crew)atau mempegaruhi kami untuk mewarisi legasi bangsa melayu iaitu SILAT.


    Dgn Silat sebagai platform, maka kami juga diperkenalkan dgn rakan2 seguru Joe yg lain.

    Berkesempatan untuk menyusur hidup di samping Joe.sayembara dunia persilatan Cikgu Joe dicampur pula karektor seorang 'Cikgu' dan 'Guru',

    mengenali Joe, boleh la di disyairkan sebagai 'catchy' + funcky bagi diri seorang 'Joe' yg diadun bersama dgn flavor rock & roll dgn sedikit perisa trash and grind core/ hard core setelah transform menjadi seorang 'Guru'. cuba kalian bayangkan.. betapa haru biru dan sempoinya cikgu kami ni.


    we dont give a damned pasal Joe yg 'dulu' tu. itu antara joe dgn Tuhan. But his teaching is soooooo ikhlas, sebab tu laa, semua anak murid dia yg lama2 still keep in touch dgn Joe, wlaupun mejoriti anak2 murid ni dah bergelar suami dan ayah dah sekarang ni (kena pulak x-mashoorian, yg terkenal tak ngam dgn mejoriti tenaga pengajar yg ada, tapi Joe still jadi cikgu favourate X-student mashoor, tak kira lah student tu classs dia ka tau tidak.....)


    dan hanya sahaya atas ikatan silaturahim antara guru dan murid, maka hubungan itu terus bertaut sehingga kini....


    sebagai manusia, tiada yg perfect, include Joe and myself. but, We (mashoorians Crew) know well 'bout his dark side, tetapi 'diri' Joe sebagai tenaga pengajarlah yg membuatkan kami still menuntut dgn beliau, tak kira lah sebagia cikgu masa dalam class, atau guru silat. (alah, kadang2 tu, dalam kelas pun dia bantai ajaq silat gak...)

    tochey kamsiah aa cikgu joe. jasamu kami kenang sampai bila2.... moga joe sentiasa dirahmati Allah Taaala... Aamiin.....
